Education
As a health care professional, it is my job to complete a thorough examination of your signs and symptoms, then provide you with a diagnosis. My first priority is to make sure you are educated and informed about:
Your diagnosis
The proposed treatment plan based on the best available evidence and your personal preference
Potential alternatives or additions to your care
Collaborative Treatment Plans
You are always in control of your care. Developing a treatment plan means integrating the following:
My clinical expertise
The best available evidence
Your specific needs and preferences
I work with you to create achievable goals so that you are in control of your own health!
Manual Therapy
There are many techniques that can be used to assist patients with their health that help to reduce pain and improve function. These include:
Manipulations
Mobilizations
Soft tissue therapy
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy
Local vibration therapy
Acupuncture Provider
I am able to use acupuncture as a tool to enhance your care. Acupuncture can be effective in reducing pain and targeting muscles, nerves and joints. The needles used in treatment are about the same thickness as a stand of hair! Even if you aren’t a fan of needles, this can be a great option to add to our treatment plan!
Rehabilitation Exercises
You know those exercises I give you to do at home? They are actually one of the most important components of treatment! Your rehabilitation plan is personalized and tailored to your specific needs, targeting the areas you need to stretch, strengthen, increase range of motion and improve overall function. They also help to maintain progress we make together during our appointments.
Referrals
Depending on your individual needs, it may be necessary to refer you to another health care provider for additional care or assessment. I will collaborate with other health professionals on treatment and refer you when necessary. Working as a collective health care team is how we achieve the best outcomes for you!
